Trying New Things

I discovered a site called Redbubble, it is a storefront for artist to upload artwork to be printed on everything from stickers to dresses.  I decided to use my Prismatree oil painting and turn it into a pattern for fabric.  I really enjoyed doing this immensely!  It makes me wonder if I could venture into the world of design.  I am already creating art, its just a matter of adjusting the photos of my work to fit certain objects, or just repeat for a pattern.  The options for adjusting photos to different color schemes is endless.  Here is a little snippet of what I have been working on today.

If you want to you can check out my little portfolio in the making, and please note..this is not a call to arms to buy stuff!!  I am just super excited to see things that I created on merchandise that would be found in a store…so cool!!

I Think I Am In Love

Is it possible to be in love with the process of creating art?  I feel like I might be…whether it is wrong or right.  When I am not doing it, I am thinking about it. I hate the obligations of real life because I am being taken away from what I would rather be doing.  This is what I had time for today, and I am thankful for every moment of it ❤️😍🎨

Back on Track

I know it is only 5 days into 2017, but I have accomplished something BIG already..I organized my art studio (i.e. guest bedroom), which is my designated spot for art. I always end up making a mess in there, which causes a creative block, forces me to move to a new space, destroy new space, move, destroy..repeat cycle until I am serving dinner to my husband at the couch.  I am going to enjoy it while it lasts, and I am pretty sure he will too.

This is my #2 art of the day for 2017…All that cleaning and reorganizing set me behind a little 😉.

Learning Opportunities

I am a self taught artist, so I find that I work way harder to accomplish a look, or a technique that I could master alot quicker if I just had access to basic art fundamentals.  This basic knowledge gives me a better understanding of what it takes to produce high quality,  long lasting artwork.

YouTube has a ton of free instructional videos covering a plethora of art demonstrations.  Udemy has some free classes and some paid classes that have been well worth it!  Lastly, I use Skillshare,  it is a 10 dollar a month fee to take unlimited classes.

There is barely a day that passes that I don’t take at least one class.  Afterwords I am super stoked to create something!! I ❤️ art!!

Here is a little peak of what I worked on today.. I will finish it tomorrow!
